Pet Therapy Superheroes of Overlook Medical Center
Working closely with the Director of The Patient Experience at Overlook we developed the concept making the therapy dogs into superheroes for an all new campaign.
I set up a pop up photo studio at the hospital and we shot headshots of all the dogs on colored backgrounds. Next we shot environmental portraits of the pet therapy dogs wearing their superhero capes blowing in the (photoshop) wind on location at the hospital. On our last day we photographed the dogs working and interacting with patients.
I designed a wide variety of printed materials including personalized trading cards for the pet therapy dog handlers to give to patients after a visit, posters that appeared throughout the hospital promoting the campaign and a spiral bound calendar that was given to the nurses stations on each floor. It was also given to potential donors to the Pet Therapy Program.
When the Covid 19 Pandemic hit, the therapy dog program was suspended. In an effort to boost morale our response was to produce animated videos with Winnie, the most popular therapy dog. Each week "she" would email a message to the entire staff that was designed to be both funny and comforting. The videos were loved by all.
