My goal for the branding for the The Jersey City Latin Jazz Festival was to make it feel as lively and flavorful as the music it celebrates. Manipulating the font to make it feel full of rhythm while still keeping it smooth like jazz. The colors were a conscious choice, popping like percussion like a visual jam session, where typography and design swing together with the same energy as a Jersey City night of Latin jazz.

Now let's talk about the octopus that yes, has literally has nothing to do with Latin Jazz.
After the huge success of the T-shirt design for the May 2025 Jersey City Jazz Festival which featured an alien spaceship sucking up jazz musicians I had to come up with something just as fun to please the crowds! Crazy as it sounds the octopus idea came from my telling friends that I will never eat octopus again after watching the movie "My Octopus Teacher" and the white glasses were a nod to my new favorite client Bryan Beninghove, the founder of Riverview Jazz. Soooo there you have it.
