I put on my filmmaker hat to art direct this project. I wanted the illustrations to be designed as if they were a shot in a film where ever possible. I would storyboard the way I would for a film and then send my direction to the illustrator and she would add her ideas and the client's ideas to mine, it was a great collaboration. The family laying in the grass (shown below) drawn from the POV of the sky looking down is a great example of that. The illustrator was given photos of real friends and family by the client to work from. She even put me in...that's me on the bench with my parents and my dog!
